NORWEGIAN FOREST CAT CLUB SHOW 21.02.09
Thanks to Anne & Brian and the Committee for the invite. I always enjoy the breed shows and I had a lovely day amongst all the Norwegians. Thanks to my husband Keith for stewarding and sharing the driving.
OPEN CLASSES
AOC (14 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS) KITTEN
1 ST & B0B TIPPER’S TIGANLEA MARQUINESS ASTA (67 31es) F 19.09.08
A sweet tortie smoke girl of 5 months with a lovely purry nature. Triangular head with a straight profile, deep strong chin & level bite. Tall ears with small tufts & inner furnishing; set high & open though a little close together at present but hopefully this will improve as her head broadens with age. Large eyes of oval shape in a slightly oblique setting. Very elegant with lovely body shape, long body carried high on strong limbs. Large round feet with lovely tufted toes. Long bushy tail. Well-prepared coat, the length developing with the beginnings of a ruff. Woolly undercoat starting to develop. Shown in excellent condition and very easy to handle.
AOC (6 TO 9 MONTHS) KITTEN
1 ST PORTER’S NOYNAROCK RAGNASVLARDATTER (67 22) F 25.05.08
A well-grown girl of 8 months with attractive tortie colouration contrasting with white on her feet, shirt front & muzzle. Triangular head, slightly longer than wide with a rounded forehead and straight profile. Level bite & deep chin that rounds off a little at the tip. Large ears set high & open with a very broad base, not rounded and with lovely tufts. Large eyes in an oblique setting, wide open but they could be more oval in shape. Long body of a good weight for her size with strong limbs & large feet. Very bushy tail that ideally could be a fraction longer. Well-prepared coat with a silky texture & the beginnings of a woolly undercoat. Lovely temperament & condition.
2 ND FRASER-SMITH’S NORSKMAGI VENETIA (67 36) F 24.07.08
A very elegant, well-grown girl of 7 months with lovely strong bone. Triangular head with all sides equal but a slight concave curve to her profile. Level bite but her chin rounds off a touch at the tip. Large expressive oval eyes but they could be set more obliquely. Large tall ears set high & open with a broad base but not much inner furnishing or tufts. Long muscular body carried high on long legs with large rounded feet and long bushy tail. Lovely coat with the topcoat beginning to develop with some long glossy hairs down her back plus a good woolly undercoat. Coat length developing with the beginnings of a ruff. Obviously a smoke and sweet lively nature. Ran the winner close, it was her profile that let her down. Lots of character though and & I awarded her my Judge’s Choice rosette.
3 RD HUGHES’S NORMAGIKATT SPARKLING STAR (67 31) F 03.08.08
A black & white girl of 6 months, mainly black with white on her chin, chest, tummy & feet. Triangular head with an almost straight profile, just a very slight nose bump. Level bite but her chin could be stronger though the white doesn’t help. Well-set ears with good inner furnishings but no tufts. Oval eyes in an oblique setting but they could be larger. Long body with strong limbs with good bone but they could be a little longer. Large tufted feet & quite long tail. Coat developing, mainly undercoat at present with some bushiness to the tail. A gentle girl who was easy to handle.
4 TH HEALING’S SISKADELL MOONLIT DAWN (67 31) F 19.07.08
A black & white girl of 7 months, mainly black with a white inverted facial “V”, white on her toes & chest. Triangular head with a practically straight profile. Level bite & deep chin that could be a fraction stronger. Well-set ears but they could be larger & broader at the base, no tufts & little inner furnishing. Large wide open eyes but she was a little nervous & she tended to round her eyes. Long body with reasonably strong bone. Long legs & large round feet, long tail with a slight pip at the tip. Coat length developing, mainly undercoat at present. A rather shy girl and not as showy as the other 3 in the class.
MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES
AC SELF ADULT
1 ST TIPPER’S CH KVASIR VANADIS (67 16) F
A mature blue girl of 2½ years, large & well-grown with lots of coat. Broad triangular head with all sides equal, her profile could be a little straighter but firm chin & level bite. Large ears with a broad base & set wide apart, no tufts but very impressive furnishings. Greeny-coloured eyes of oval shape in an oblique setting but they are set a touch deep. Long body with strong bone, long sturdy limbs with round feet & tufted toes, long bushy tail. Full coat with a ruff & shirt front, very dense and double with a woolly undercoat and glossy topcoat.
2 ND HUGHES’S NORMAGIKATT KVASIR THEA (67 16) F
An attractive young blue girl of only 10 months. Feminine head, triangular with an almost straight profile. Large tall ears set high & open with slight tufts and lovely long inner furnishing. Eyes of oval shape in an oblique setting but they could be a little larger. Long body with long strong limbs & round feet with tufted toes. Long bushy tail. Dense coat with a woolly undercoat but topcoat not properly developed yet. No points for colour but very attractive powder blue coat contrasting with her beautiful green eyes!

1 ST DOUGLAS’S FENRISULVEN GENEVIEVE (67 20a) F
An elegant blue tabby girl of not quite 2 years though she looks a little young for her age. Triangular head but slightly pinched with an almost straight profile. Level bite her chin could be a little stronger. Her ears are set high & open and they follow the lines of her head. Lovely eye shape & set but they could be more wide open. Long body with long legs & tufted feet, long bushy tail. Dense coat with lots of woolly undercoat and slightly coarser topcoat. Good length to the coat with a ruff & shirt front. A friendly girl who was easy to handle.

1 ST HEALING’S GR CH JARRAHKATT AZZARA (67 31t) F
A mature brown tabby & white lady of 7½ years shown in excellent condition. Mature head, a broad and triangular with a straight profile & deep firm chin. Large well-set ears and well-opened expressive eyes of oval shape in an oblique setting. Elegant body with strong bone and limbs to balance. Well-prepared coat with a ruff & bushy tail. Coat double with a dense undercoat and glossy topcoat. Easy to handle.
2 ND ELMS’S NOYNAROCK SOLAMAN (67 31a) M
A very well-grown blue & white boy, only 10 months old but strong & powerful. Broad masculine head, triangular with an almost straight profile. Well-set ears & large greeny-coloured eyes. Long heavy body with very strong bone. Substantial limbs with large round feet and lovely long bushy tail. Lots of coat with a full ruff and shirt front. Dense coat with a woolly undercoat, topcoat developing.

1 ST HANDY’S NORSKMAGI TAVARIS (67 31ts) MN
A very elegant & muscular black silver tabby boy of 7 months with lots of style. Triangular head, a fraction longer than wide and his muzzle is a little fine. Straight profile & large tall ears. Quite large eyes of oval shape in an oblique setting. Long body with long legs with strong bone & large round tufted feet. Long bushy tail. Well-prepared coat, the length developing with the beginnings of a ruff. Excellent condition and temperament.

A well-grown elegant brown tabby girl of nearly 9 months. Triangular head slightly longer than wide with a straight profile. Large ears set high & open, her eyes could be larger & more wide open but of good shape & set. Long body that needs to fill out. Strong limbs with large feet and long bushy tail. Silky coat, the undercoat needs to develop.

A well grown brown tabby & white boy of 5 months. Triangular head, broad & masculine. Profile practically straight, deep chin but it rounds off at the tip. Large ears with tufts & long inner furnishing, large eyes of good shape & set. Elegant body with strong limbs but his tail is rather short for balance. Dense coat with lots of woolly undercoat, the length developing with the beginnings of a ruff. Shown in lovely condition.

1 ST PATTERSON’S FORESTSHADOW CONAN (67 31t) MN
A very elegant young brown tabby & white boy of only 10 months. Triangular head with a straight profile but his chin falls away a little. Well-set ears & large oval-shaped eyes in an oblique setting. Long body carried high on strong limbs with large rounded feet. Lovely long bushy tail. Lovely coat preparation with a dense coat & silky topcoat. Super condition and temperament.
2 ND PORTER’S PR NOYNAROCK SYLVESTER (67 31a) MN
A large blue & white boy of 2 years, well-grown with lovely strong bone. Broad masculine head, triangular with large ears set a fraction upright & large eyes of oval shape. Elegant body with a long bushy tail. Double coat with a dense woolly undercoat and glossier topcoat. A handsome fellow with a gentle nature.

A young lad of exactly 10 months who needs to mature. Head a little long at present & his profile could be straighter, his chin falls away. Large ears without tufts set a fraction too wide. Large eyes but they are a touch full. Smaller overall size, he needs to fill out. Not a lot of coat at present and the topcoat needs to develop.

Only 1 present but very attractive blue tabby & white colouration to his dense coat. Lovely condition and gentle nature. I would have been happy to take him home though I doubt if his owner would have liked the idea!
